FFS Wins Double Recognition at Work Boat World Awards 2024

Fire Fighting Systems (FFS) is proud to announce a double recognition from Baird Maritime’s Work Boat World Awards, having been named both:

-Best Fire Pump Supplier 2024
-Best Fire Monitor Supplier 2024

These awards are based on the suppliers most frequently chosen in Work Boat World’s vessel reviews throughout the year. With more than 40 years of industry authority and a global readership of decision-makers, Work Boat World is recognized as one of the most respected voices in the international workboat sector.

Recognition for Pumps

In awarding FFS Best Fire Pump Supplier 2024, Work Boat World noted that our company “specialises in firefighting equipment and currently proves its worth by controlling 60 to 70 per cent of the global maritime market.”

Having delivered over 6,000 complete ship sets, FFS pumps are now standard on a wide range of vessels. As Work Boat World highlighted, “tugs, OSVs, fireboats, rescue and salvage craft, bunker vessels, tankers, and many other types rely on FFS for all manner of fire protection.”

They also emphasized our design approach: “compact, easy to install, well-proven modern units with less power requirement than other brands.” Our fire pump and gearbox solutions eliminate external piping and vulnerable sensors, while integrated pump-driven cooling removes the need for external systems. These choices make FFS units safer, more robust, and easier to operate.

Recognition for Monitors

FFS was also named Best Fire Monitor Supplier 2024, with Baird Maritime describing the company as “deservedly renowned as the world’s leading designer, manufacturer, supplier and servicer of maritime firefighting equipment.”

The award coverage pointed to the scale of FFS’s contribution to the global fleet, noting a track record of at least 15,000 monitors supplied over the past 25 years, with continuous modifications to maintain top quality and customer satisfaction worldwide.

The coverage also highlighted the engineering advantages of FFS monitors, which require less inlet pressure, reducing pump power needs and fuel consumption. Recent developments include lighter, more compact jet screen monitors that extend FFS technology into land-based applications.

Adding to this record of innovation, the publication also cited FFS’s development of the largest modern fire monitor in the world, tested at more than 83,000 litres per minute with throw lengths exceeding 250 metres

Our monitors are used globally on tugs, fireboats, offshore vessels, and other critical marine assets, where operators demand dependable performance in the most challenging conditions. This recognition underlines the role of FFS monitors as trusted tools on the frontlines of maritime firefighting.

Setting the Global Benchmark

Together, these awards reinforce FFS’s position as the leading supplier of external firefighting systems worldwide. With more than 12,000 pumps delivered and 15,000 monitors supplied, our technology continues to set the benchmark for safety and reliability at sea.

But our role does not end there. The same proven systems are ideally suited to land-based challenges, where refineries, tank farms, and major industrial sites demand fast response, long-range coverage, and absolute reliability. FFS technology provides the high-capacity water flow and precise foam application required to control large-scale industrial fires, while our mobile solutions give frontline workers and municipalities the flexibility to respond wherever and whenever they are needed most.

Commitment to Progress

In their award coverage, Work Boat World quoted our philosophy of continuous development: “We will continue to look at our product range and improve the solutions we already have, making sure we can save lives, the environment and infrastructure every day.”

This ongoing commitment—innovation, reliability, and protecting people and assets—is the foundation of FFS, these back-to-back awards are not ours alone, they belong equally to our customers, for their continued trust, and to our workforce, for their skill and dedication in delivering on that trust every day.
