Deluge systems:

DELUGE SYSTEMS (WATER SPRAY)

A self-protection deluge system is normally included in the fi-fi systems for various types of vessels. The size of the areas to be protected and the required flow pr. square meter pr. minute normally decide the water capacity. The water can be taken from the main fi-fi pumps or from additional pumps onboard. FFS provide complete system design for class approval and all types of nozzles and pressure reducers based on the general arrangement drawing of the actual vessel provided by the client.

The various systems are found in a few categories:

DELUGE SYSTEM TUG

The typical deluge system for a tug will be designed as a water curtain with no conventional nozzles in the hull side. This will save the yard for comprehensive pipework. A further advantage is less maintenance due to fewer nozzles exposed to damage during ships operation. Using FFS own developed Tug Nozzles creates the curtain. Traditional or special design is available upon request.

DELUGE SYSTEM OFFSHORE VESSEL

The typical deluge system for offshore vessels will be similar to the curtain system for tugs with no nozzles in the hull side. Special Offshore Supply Vessel Nozzles developed by FFS protect the long aft ship. Traditional or special design is also available.

DELUGE SYSTEM LNG/LPG-TANKERS AND FPSO

The deluge systems onboard these sophisticated vessels have much in common with the fi-fi systems regarding technology. However the basic legislation is different and the system layout is customised for each individual vessel design.
